Talk about DNA… Tim’s parents and grandparents were all in advertising. Denying his birthright, he foolishly pursued biochemical research in breast cancer. Silly man. It was only a matter of time before he was thrown headfirst into what he was born to do.

As an award-winning creative director, Tim has brought in dozens of accolades from the Rx Club, the Global Awards, MM&M, the Mannys, and the CLIOS. No stranger to launches, he’s led the launch efforts for Actonel, Teveten, Trexima, Stelara, Lamictal, Zemplar capsules, Stalevo, and Lexapro.

In addition, Tim has extensive experience in market development and disease education, having developed successful award-winning campaigns in such categories as plaque psoriasis, COPD, hypertension, CKD, alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, Parkinson’s disease, and thrombolytics.

Tim lives in New York City, just a few blocks from the agency—so it’s fair to say he’s never really off duty.

Joan recently joined AREA 23 with more than 20 years of pharmaceutical marketing and advertising experience. She brings with her a 10-year background in sales and marketing, a deep understanding of agency fundamentals, strong global account management experience, and exceptional multichannel/digital experience. Joan is excited to leverage her background to expand the limits of client offerings and creativity at AREA 23.

Before she was managing agencies, Joan began her healthcare career managing relationships with doctors as a sales rep for Astra Pharmaceuticals. She then went from carrying a bag to carrying a brand as a Marketing Team Leader. One of her most rewarding experiences was developing the Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis portfolio of brands and working closely with patients and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada (CCFC). This brought her to the agency side, first at Saatchi & Saatchi and then at Cline Davis & Mann, where she became Managing Director.

During her time at CDM, Joan oversaw the global agency’s Novartis transplant, HCV, and respiratory portfolios, as well as several products in early commercialization. She also managed several Pfizer brands, including Lipitor, Caduet, Viagra, Vfend, and Zyvox. Following her successes at CDM, Joan directed client services at Group DCA, where her highlights included restructuring client services, long-term business planning, and developing a global digital business strategy.

Joan earned a BS in athletic therapy and an MBA from Concordia University. An avowed dog lover, Joan treasures the sigh dogs make when they are about to fall asleep.
